Creative Writing Workshops

The First Tuesday of the Month Starting in March
Join Tony Dallacheisa of Kent State Tuscarawas for a series of Creative Writing Workshops just for teens! Workshops will focus on group discussion and practice. These workshops are free and open to teens in grades 9-12. Registration is limited to 10 students. Interested teens can reserve their spots by calling the library at 330-343-6123.

Dates: March 5, April 2, May 7

Dallacheisa will use Stephen King's On Writing to discuss a variety of writing concepts, from plot and description to tone and pacing. When registering, students will be given a notebook, a library copy of On Writing, and a set of guidelines for the workshops. Dallacheisa also encourages students to "Bring a spirit of playfulness, curiosity, and creativity," along with their short stories, to these workshops.

Students will meet on March 5, April 2, and May 7. Snacks will be provided at each meeting, and special prizes will be given at the last meeting to those students who have completed the workshops.
For more information, please contact Liz Strauss at strausel@oplin.org or 330-343-6123.
