Chinese New Year - January 21
Join us for a fun, festive event as we ring in the Year of the Horse and learn more about Chinese culture with crafts, games, and activities. Snacks will also be served.

Tween/Teen Game Day - January 28
Join us for Wii, board, and card games! Open to ages 9-18. Snacks will be provided. Bring a game and a friend!

Mexican Constitution Day - February 4
A festival in honor of one of Mexico's national holidays, this is the second of our Culture Fair Series. Enjoy Mexican music, food, and more at this fun program!

YA Crew (1st Meeting of the Year) - February 11
The YA Crew is a group of local teens who gain leadership experience and community service hours by helping the library better serve the teen community. New members are always welcome! Snacks are always provided. 

Origami Hour - February 18
Learn the art of paper folding at this fun-filled crafting event! All materials will be supplied by the library. Light snacks will also be provided.


After School Movie - February 25
Join us for a teen movie, rated PG-13 or lower. Specific titles will be discussed at the YA Crew Meeting in February. Call 330-343-6123 and ask for Liz to request a movie title.

Mardi Gras - March 4
Celebrate "Fat Tuesday" with French traditions, including games, masks and King Cake! Other snacks will be provided. 

YA Crew - March 11
Join the YA Crew for Teen Tech Week: DIY @ the Library. Learn to make your own stop-motion video using library equipment. Please note that any teen not handling equipment properly will be asked to leave the workshop. Light snacks provided. 
Giant Monopoly - March 18
Like the board game Monopoly? Bet you've never played like this before! Join us for a gigantic, fun twist on a classic game. Any teen wanting to help Liz with the prep work, please email her.

After School Movie - March 25
Join us for a teen movie, rated PG-13 or lower. Specific titles will be discussed at the YA Crew Meeting in February. Call 330-343-6123 and ask for Liz to request a movie title.


Improv - April 1
Back by the YA Crew's demand, join us for an afternoon of hilarious games and costume theater!

Upcycling - April 8
Don't throw away that old T-shirt just yet! Turn it into something new at this creative program inspired by Money Smart Week. Teens are required to bring their own T-shirts to upcycle.

YA Crew - April 15
Kick off the Teen activities of National Library Week at this fun event! Join the YA Crew to complete a scavenger hunt that will take you on a tour of the library. Enjoy snacks and door prizes as well. Teens who cannot make it to the event can complete the scavenger hunt on their own any time before World Book Night (April 23) for a chance to win our Teen Prize Basket.

Earth Day Around the World - April 22
Join us for the final event in our Culture Fair Series to learn how Earth Day is celebrated in other countries, play fun games, and more!

Spa Day - May 6
Come and relax with us as we make bath salts, share nail art tips,  
and more at this teen-favorite event. Make something for yourself or a gift for Mother's Day! All materials will be supplied by the library and light refreshments will be provided.



Special Programs

Author Mindy McGinnis - Saturday March 29 at 1:00 PM
Join Ohio author Mindy McGinnis as she discusses her teen debut novel Not a Drop to Drink, the incredible story of a teen girl's survival in a future world where fresh water is scarce and no one can be trusted. A book signing will follow the program. Event is open to patrons of all ages. Call the library at 330-343-6123 to register.

Ice Cream Social - Thursday, May 29 at 3:00 PM
In Front of the Library
Celebrate the end of the school year with us! Enjoy frozen treats while playing games and making new friends. Also get a special sneak peek at what the summer will bring for Dover teens. Open to teens entering grades 6-12. Register by calling the library at 330-343-6123.
