What is improv?
Improv (AKA Improvisational Theater, but, really, that's way too long to say) is a form of performance art (AKA acting) where actors have no script (or simply go off script) to create something new. Often, improvised lines are pretty realistic, and improvisation is a great skill for actors to have.
But, wait, is this an acting class?
Oh, yeah, me teaching you to act... yeah, no. No, we're not going there. We're taking improv to an extreme. The comedy club, Whose Line is it Anyway, kind of extreme. There are many games and activities designed to create an improv comedy show. It's these that we'll be focusing on. You don't have to know how to act. You just have to let go and have some fun. Say whatever comes to mind, and go with it.
And if all else fails...
We'll always have popcorn...
