Hunger Games Party

 Tribute Bash a Huge Success!
Thanks everyone who came to last week's Hunger Games Tribute Bash! I had a blast, and I hope you all did, too!
For those of you who missed it and want to know what we did (and get really, really jealous of the people who did show up), here are some great pictures of the event.

First off, no we did not have pizza. (I know, so tragic and wrong.) We did, however, have this awesome Mockingjay cake. Marble cake with chocolate icing and vanilla details. We also had some yummy cheesy snacks and pretzels (seriously, why do none of you like pretzels?)

At our craft table, we had pin making! This actually turned into more of a "Paint the pieces of foam and the paper plates" party, but I'm surprisingly okay with this. In these pictures Alex and Angelique make their awesome creations.

Here we have some Hunger Games fans working together on the Extreme Hunger Games Trivia Crossword puzzle. Lesson to Liz: Don't bother making Easy or Medium Hunger Games Trivia Crosswords Puzzles. Glad you all had fun with them.

We also had some fun at the "Camouflage" Face Painting Table. (Anyone else who saw the movie get really kinda freaked out withe Peeta and the camo awesomeness? Anyone? No... Okay...)

Too soon it was time to give away some prizes, like this Official Movie Guide and three Mockingjay bags. Enjoy!

We were also rewarded for having a great program with this front page of the local newspaper! Sorry, Angelique, but I still think it's a great photo!

Happy Hunger Games, everyone, and May the Odds be EVER in your Favor!

Hunger Games Tribute Bash

Tuesday March 20 @ 3PM

Teens ages 12-18 are invited to the Hunger Games Tribute Bash in honor of the upcoming film based on the bestselling novel by Suzanne Collins. The event is free and will include a variety of games and activities based on the books. Refreshments will be provided and I have some great prizes planned. Best of all, no prior knowledge of the books is necessary!

In a dark and violent dystopian world, children from twelve Districts are chosen at random to fight to the death in The Hunger Games for the entertainment of the powerful Capitol. Our hero, Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take her little sister’s place in the Games and is thrown into the arena to battle dehydration, mutants, and her fellow tributes.

Fans of the book will have loads to do at the bash, but if you haven’t read the series, there are still plenty of activities for you. Besides Hunger Games trivia and word games, I'm planning camouflage face painting, an archery scene, an edible vs. inedible plant quiz, and a survival game.

The Hunger Games Tribute Bash is a great way to celebrate the upcoming film or see if you could survive the arena. Teens can register for the event by calling the library at 330-343-6123. Angry Birds Live!

Hi, everyone! Happy Teen Tech Week! Hope you are all stopping in for your tickets for the iTunes Gift Card!

I want to thank everyone for coming to our Geek Out Party where we played Angry Birds and had some yummy snacks. Not too much of a crowd, but I think you all had fun, and I hope to see you back in the library soon! (Hunger Games Tribute Bash, anyone?)

Teens having fun building and destroying obstacles during Angry Birds Live!
PS: Yes, I kept the Birds. So, maybe we can play again!
